Chandler O'Brien is more than just a front-man; he's a husband, a dog-father, and an accounting manager. Hailing from Beaufort, SC, he's the glue that brought the rest of the band together.
At the age of 7 he began playing his first instrument, the violin. After many years of orchestra and fiddle camp it was time to start trying new things like guitar and singing in the choir. The passion for music along with 6 years of playing In the band at church developed his sound.
It went from his first group semi-tone into second group whiskey bent. His grandma didn’t really like that name and thus Reedy River Revival was born. Now they are focused on writing and releasing their first original music!
Jason Lee, guitarist and founding member of Reedy River Revival, a new-aged Blues Band based in Greenville, SC, infuses his performances with a fervor inspired by his roots in Beaufort, SC.
Raised by a mother who was a prolific singer and piano player, and influenced by his time as a roadie and sound technician for his Uncle Johnny’s band, Jason's musical journey was further shaped by listening to his mother’s Elvis records and the legendary rock bands of the the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Jason got a late start on the guitar but his hard work and dedication have resulted in seeing a dream become reality. He loves a thick, heavy guitar tone, reminiscent of Billy F. Gibbons, contrasted against beautiful clean tones. “I’ll play anything, I don’t care, as long as it speaks to people, but I always find myself going back to the Blues” says Jason.
Beyond the stage, Jason is a hard-working, committed family man. He serves in various capacities at his church and enjoys exercise and the pursuit of health and longevity, ensuring he brings his best to every show.
The beating heart of the band (literally) is Ben Heaton, a 23-year Navy veteran whose lifelong discipline, rhythm, and passion for music anchor the band’s steady and driving sound. A husband and father of four with strong faith and a commitment to serving in his local church.
With influences drawn from 80s rock and the alternative rock movements of the 1990s and 2000s, the versatile rhythm section is the energy that holds the stage and the crowd together.
Ben's greatest joy is making music with his childhood friend, lead guitarist Jason, who shares deep roots in Beaufort, South Carolina. Their long-standing trust and friendship is the foundation upon which everything else is built.
Mike Burch was 13 when he found an old guitar under his bed and decided to see what it could do. He never looked back, learning any song that he could and writing over fifty of his own before graduating high school.
Back then, he drew inspiration from wildly different sources: everything from Senses Fail to Jack Johnson. These days, he pulls from the heavy, headbang-inducing riffs of post-hardcore and the slick, evocative blues solos of monster players like SRV and John Mayer to bring his dynamic style to Reedy River Revival. An apologetically energetic player, it’s all about fun for Mike, who can often be found dancing around the stage and making unrestrained guitar faces. He brings versatility to RRR as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter/producer, and pun enthusiast.
When not jamming with the boys, Mike can be found working on his pop-punk solo project Citizen Elsewhere, leading worship on Sunday, or binging Netflix at home with his family.
Caleb McMahon plays bass guitar and occasionally moonlights on the drums. Hailing from Easley, SC, he has been playing drums since he was eleven years old, and bass since he was sixteen. He is passionate about many genres including metal, blues, rap, and alt rock, listing his biggest musical influences as Third Eye Blind, Paramore, The 1975, Nothing But Thieves, and Sleep Token.
When not on stage, he reads, writes, and overanalyzes fantasy novels, usually over a glass of the cheapest whiskey he can find. He has worked as everything from a landscaper to a real estate agent, and now he’s bringing down the house with Reedy River Revival.
The Reedy River is a symbol of Greenville, the city that brought them together, and it is now the symbol they use to bring everyone together through music.
